I've always wanted to do something to raise money for charity but could never really decide how to do it. Last year I started getting into fitness once again after being out for a while with joint problems. I took part in a couple of runs throughout the year with friends and I guess I just got the bug. Just before Christmas I decided it would be great to combine my love for running and desire to fundraise. I set myself a rather ambitious goal - to complete 12 runs in 12 months.
Before I could do anything else I needed to decide on a charity. After researching a variety of relevant charities I found one that hit pretty close to home: Oxfordshire's MS Therapy Centre. They provide affordable and accessible therapies, often not available on the NHS. They also offer information and support to those suffering with Multiple Sclerosis. To see the invaluable work they do visit their website.
Multiple Sclerosis is something I'm all too familiar with. Over 10 years ago, when my mum told my sister and I she had been diagnosed, we had never heard of it before. Sadly, in 2012 we lost her to complications with MS, which is why I've set myself this challenge in her memory.
This cause is something very close to my heart and if you would like to support me please see how you can do so below.
I will be posting regular updates about my training and activities so keep in touch.
